Vpn providers blocking stun/turn protocols

Hi,
I'm wondering if vpn providers can actually block stun/turn protocols even over tls encryption, is that even possible and how do they do it ?
I actually got confirmation from some of them that they do it to protect the identity of the user from leaking, as stun/turn protocols can leak the user's identity.
