Hi all,
We're working on an embedded Linux development kit. We're facing a problem about echo audio when stream between two devices.
Webrtc can help us to solve this problem. I wonder if we can use webrtc on embedded linux.
Any ideas for this question?
Thanks for reading and hope to hear good news from you!!!!

Hi,

Could you elaborate what embedded linux is? If it's similar to common linux distro's WebRTC should run fine but I encourage you to just try. Development instructions can be found here.

And yes, the built in echo canceler should be able to remove echo if the receiver side has a microphone and speaker directly connected to it (i.e. it cannot eliminate echo if one device just records then sends it to another device that just outputs audio and does not have a microphone.).

What is the use case for WebRTC specifically in this context?

/Chris

Hi Hao,

I see this post is kinda old but if you are still looking for technology in this area, it is an area that we are actively working in and have a basic port done - specific hardware tailoring depending on the embedded system. If have any further interest, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Seamus
