I hardly believe the team will respond. I would not count on any WebRTC support in Chrome for iOS (unless the default Safari browser implements it).
The only features that Chrome adds as a browser are unrelated to the rendering/scripting engine (simply because it is not possible), so basically mainly synchronization and network level features are implemented.

My understanding is that there is no support for getUserMedia in Safari for iOS and Firefox is not intending to support this platform at all.

Can we expect getUserMedia support in Chrome for iOS anytime soon?

Thanks,

With enough ingenuity and effort, anything is possible. Can't commit to any timeframe though.

Justin,

I was under the impression (see [1], [2]) that there were some apple policy against it. Do you mean to say that google is speaking with apple with respect to that issue?

Blink is not the only solution.

Chrome for iOS already does a lot of magic. So, more of the same.

It is possible to implement getUserMedia on IOS as a bolt-on to Apple's WebKit engine.

A proof-of-concept WebRTC-enabled browser caller 'Bowser' was released last year by Ericsson Labs but the current release on the App Store is missing nearly all the functions we come to expect of a browser.  Furthermore I have experienced a string of problems with Javascript control of the <video> element once bound to a local WebRTC stream.

I hope the Google team will go down this route for Chrome, if not just to twist Apple's arm into supporting getUserMedia quicker than they would otherwise.

I've been waiting over a year since Opera's getUserMedia-enabled browser hit Android for anyone to catch up. In the mean time Opera have let their lead slip by introducing a slew of bugs; it's only now we're starting to see Chrome on Android catch up - with a promise of Firefox to follow.  I can't see Apple will be able to delay much longer when G+ and/or Facebook start offering browser-based full video calling!

Is there any breakthrough on the getUserMedia on iOS devices yet. Links to any paid library can also help.
