The Election Committee still needs some additional volunteers. We
need at least one more volunteer to take responsibility for a region,
i.e. to follow up with the state coordinators to keep their
membership records up-to-date, as well as process nominations for an
assigned region during the national election. Our new software has
made this job easier and less time consuming, but someone still needs to do it.
We also need someone who has some experience with database software
who would be willing to train as a backup to the Dataset Manager. The
position of DM requires a commitment of 3 to 5 hours per week during
the year; and many more hours during the election period, which
starts in April for the EC. The DM also now records and processes the
bounce notices for the National-Announcement mailing list so
familiarity with RFCs (email requirements) would be a plus.
In all of this, teamwork is imperative, which is why the EC looks for
good team players. Politics and/or personalities must be set aside
when serving on the EC.
