JOINT DEMONSTRATION FOR SOCIAL SERVICES AND SOCIAL SECURITY, PEOPLE’S RIGHTS TO NATURAL RESOURCES, LABOUR RIGHTS AND PROPOSING AN ALTERNATIVE DEVELOPMENT PARADIGM

Following the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, the new Government that has come to power in India is carrying forward the agenda of privatisation and neo-liberalisation, in continuity with the previous government. Further, the way the new government has decided to attack progressive acts, which were made or amended in favour of common people in the last decade, is an indicator that this new Government is also pushing a clear pro-corporate agenda. Given this situation, to bring into focus people’s issues and highlight the need for an alternative development model, we are planning to meet in Delhi on 30th November and 1st December in a People’s assembly of about 300 to 500 people. This would be followed by a mass rally on 2nd December, in which over 20,000 people are expected to participate.
A preparatory meeting was held in Delhi on 25th October to plan details of these programmes. If you would like to attend future preperatory meetings please write back to us.

सामाजिक सुरक्षा और अधिकारों, प्राकृतिक संसाधनों पर लोगों के हक़, मजदूर अधिकार और वैकल्पिक विकास के लिए दिल्ली में संयुक्त रैली

2014 के लोक सभा चुनावों के बाद एक नयी सरकार बनी जिसने पहले की तरह बाजारवाद और नव-उदारवादी नीतियों को आगे बढाया है. जिस तरह से पिछले कुछ दशकों में परवर्तित या नए बने प्रगतिशील कानूनों (जैसे नरेगा, वन अधिकार कानून, भूमी अधिग्रहण कानून) पर नयी सरकार हमला कर रही है उस से संदेह हो रहा है की वह कारपोरेट एजेंडा को ही आगे बढाने की फिराक में है. ऐसी परिस्थिति में जनता के मुद्दों और वैकल्पिक विकास के माडल को सामने लाना ज़रूरी है और इस लिए इस लोक सभा के सत्र में 30 नवम्बर और 1 दिसंबर को लग-भग 500 लोगों की एक जन सभा तथा 2 दिसंबर 2014 को एक महा रैली का आयोजन दिल्ली में किया जा रहा है. आशा है की इस कार्यक्रम में देश भर से बीस हज़ार से अधिकार लोग भाग लेंगे.
इन कार्यक्रमों की तैयारी करने के लिए 25 अक्टूबर को दिल्ली में एक बैठक की गयी. यदि आप आगे होने वाली तैय्यारी बैठकों में भाग लेना चाहेंगे तो कृपया हम से संपर्क करें.
कृपया जल्द ही इस घोषणा का विस्तृत प्रचार करके लोगों को इन कार्यक्रमों के बारे में सूचना दे व इनमें भारी संख्या में भाग लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करें.
