that'd be great: the more the merrier

i should warn you that the code's a bit rubbish - RAT started as a way
to help me audit incubator releases more quickly. now other people
seem interested, i'm trying to rewrite the code ATM so it doesn't suck
quite so much. there are also conceptual issues in the current
codebase.

i'm going to revise the design of this area sometime soon. if you have
this implementation started then let me know soon and i'll hold off
this work
