Folder Lock Serial Number

After the August update, when I reboot my phone, it shows a persistent notification "Secure Folder locked" under Android system section...the only way to make it go is to unlock my secure folder. Is there a way to stop this notification from coming in the first place? Thanks.

I would like to ask how the lock tabs feature can be used. I just updated to the latest version, 12.22 Light edition and I followed these instructions which were found in the manual:
"Folder tabs can be locked in a number of different ways. Primarily, when a tab is locked, it always displays the same folder. To lock a tab, right-click on it and choose a command from the context menu's Lock Tab menu."
(Something we have on our list to make built-in in the future. The current built-in purpose of locked tabs is more about keeping them from changing folders, as described in the manual screenshot in the post above mine.)

first time I've logged into this site in a long time. This instructable was something I made when I was in 8th grade. Yes I know my grammar is terrible and my spelling is even worse. This was just something I done for fun. It was never meant to be "secure or encrypted." Also this was only meant to work in Windows XP. I see that some of you have found ways to make it work in other OS and I think that's great. Most of your problems are probably related to using windows vista or windows 7. If you forgot your password just make another locker.bat and delete the old one. Just because you delete the locker.bat or locker.exe for those who converted it, doesn't mean you delete the folder where your files are stored. I will try to come back more often and respond to your comments and questions.
Now just go to were you saved the Folder Locker and open it. It should make a folder called locker. To lock the Folder you need to open the batch file. It should ask you if you want to lock the folder, all you have to do is type Y for yes and N for no. and the folder should disapere. To unlock the folder just open the batch file again and enter your password.

just delete the .bat file
create a new .bat file by copy pasting the code and put a new password in the code.
then copy the .bat file to that folder and then run
passsword will be asked and then type the new password
thats all,the hidden folder will unlock
I have created a batch file for locking d folder on my PC. It was working fine till i formatted my C drive. after that the disk in which i created this batch file is locked and it is showing that access is denied. I am totally stuck and do not know what to do. Plzzzzzzzzz help me.
Uhm hello! I saw this method on youtube and I tried it to lock my important files. It was working fine for a few months but now when I tried opening it, the window for the insert password keeps crashing. How am I supposed to open my folder if I can't insert my password :/ How can I undo this lock? Please, I need your help, these files are important to me..

I am working in a project that have file processing. Files are coming from another application and is large in number. Now I want to lock that folder for other application till scan it's files and process. After processing all files will removed and unlock this folder. I have googled it, but solution not found. Is there any method using node.js? Please suggest.
For my file system synchronization, I tend to use the lockfile module. It allows a function to lock a file/folder, preventing access until it is freed (Effectively a mutex). An example of what you are trying to do can be found on their npm page:
The Dropbox website at -protection clearly states that it is possible to password protect a folder in Dropbox, and has an animation on the page that seems to show this happening in a couple of simple steps. However, my version of Dropbox (the basic personal free version) looks nothing like that, and this Dropbox forum has a number of (possibly out of date) posts stating it's not possible to password protect a folder.
I would like to add a Folder under our corporate account. This folder will contain personal information on our employees therefore, I want this new Folder password protected, the entire folder not just a document in the folder. How do I do this?
This is functionality that should just be included at folder level. Heck, the iOS version seems to have lost the generic passcode access feature. The instructions on -integrations/mobile/passcode-phone-tablet don't make sense anymore (for one thing, there is no gear icon). Hello Dropbox? Bigger Problem : I had locked many folders with this software when it was working fine.
But now I can't access those folders anymore, they're still locked but software doesn't show these folders in its "locked folders list".
How do I unlock them?
The software was working fine for few months - I was able to lock and unlock things in my computer during that period. But all of a sudden the software Folder Lock just got reset somehow.
I had the same problem. I was not able to retrieve my locked files but uninstall of folder lock without password is easily done by using for example speed commander (select folder lock from program files via speed commander and delete) Simple as that.(no password required) Can also be done with other file finding software as well.
The only way I know is to change the name of the parent directory in which the locked folder exists for example Pictures is the locked folder then change C:/Anything/Pictures to C:/Anything else/Pictures
I have talked to Samsung support on chat and on the phone with no solution, I wiped the cache, logged out of an into the samsung acccount on the phone, rebooted multiple times. I says I have 5 attempts left and I really need a file in that secure folder! Has anyone found a solution for this??

Different possible use cases, but given the nature of Obsidian I second what @bscott highlighted. Going down the path of full lock and encrypt would introduce limitations that are taking away from the flexibility of plain text storage. There are plenty of tools to protect data. The ask here is maybe simply the ability to hide folders from prying eyes.
Implementing something like this in a text editor is not so simple. I would recommend using protections available on the computer/device you use to interact with Obsidian (drive encryption, authentication mechanisms, etc.). If you keep your device locked when you are away or not using it, then your Obsidian data is still protected.
That is, for a given file X, ideally to find the process id of each process which either holds, or is waiting for, a lock on the file. It would be a very good start though just to get a count of the number of processes waiting for a lock.
