We’re going to meet this Sunday out at Clear Creek to begin work on the new beginner trail. Our intentions for Sunday are to walk the entire loop with a train of leaf blowers to mark the initial path and prepare for brush clearing. I know everyone loves to run the blowers, so here’s your chance to blow till the cows come home. The general direction of the trail has been flagged but other than that it is untouched hardwood hills and bottoms.
Meet at the current trail head at 1:30 Sunday afternoon with water and gloves and we’ll roll on down to the new trail area. Bring a leaf blower if you’ve got one; we’ll have several out there if you don’t. (While I’m on the subject, anyone out there have the other OC blower? Weldy may have both of them, but I think he only has one.) So, come on out for a great day in some of the prettiest woods in the area and check out what is soon to be the most ridden trail in the state. At the very least you can hang out with some people that are cooler than you are.
PS: Just to clarify, DO NOT run the blowers on the old trail, this Sunday or anytime this year. We killed that trail by over-blowing it last year. It was a 10 mile long drainage ditch by the time spring rolled around and caused far more work than it was worth.
