Hey Brian,

just installed your extension on Chrome 9 - I love it!! Here is my problem:

I go to TechCrunch.com and I don't see the Buzz icon... so I guess that extension may be working. (I don't get any highlighting however)
I check "depersonalize searches" and the buzz icon appears. Both times the extension tells me it blocked some sites.

Something smells fishy... Any ideas?

Cheers
Stephan

Thanks a lot, Stephan. Buzz buttons are delivered through a script
that, I think, generates their content box. Since Disconnect blocks
the script, dimensions are never specified, and there's no area to
highlight.

This behavior is by design. When you turn search depersonalization on,
Disconnect gets rid of your generic google.com cookies. You're not
personally identifiable anymore without the cookies, so the extension
also starts unblocking resources from google.com -- like Buzz buttons.

Brian, I really like your extension. Is it a GPL license?

I'm trying to understand exactly what depersonalization does. Can I accomplish the same thing by blocking cookies? For example, you mention depersonalizing Google searches. If I set Chrome to BLOCK google.com cookies, is turning on depersonalization to depersonalize Google searches useless?
