Explain the colored/grayed toggles

I've toggled the different sites and have no idea what a gray vs. colored icon means. Which means the extension is ON and which means OFF??

Hey Jamie, I've been slow to reply because I was working on a new
version of Disconnect, with new UI. Hopefully, the new UI is self
explanatory.
