I am plannigna trip to Kermit Sand Hills in about a month. We went
last spring a had a very good time. There is sand much closer than
this but Kermit is very diferent from Little Sahara. It is pretty
desolate as far as that part of the country goes but the riding area
is huge. Some of the website say 1600 acers but I would guess it to
be twice that. There are tons of jumps and quite a bit of very fast
desert style trails that are partially vegitated. I would not
recomend tent camping there because of the wind. We will be staying in
a hotel in Kermit.

James, how far of a drive is it?  If I can go would my camper work better than the hotel?  What are all the fees, etc?

I am going to say 70% sand 30% partially vegitated trails. The trails
are baja style, or best of the desert type track. Jamie the camper
would work I guess it would just depend on how many of us there is
going. The hotel is only about 12 miles and both the hotel and dunes
are right on the highway. Where we stayed last time was 75 bucks a
night for a room with two queen beds. I am trying to work out how
many are interested and what trailers we might take down. I have a
crew cab 3/4 ton and one of my friends that is going does also. So
right now I think we are about half full. I have quite a few options
as far as getting bikes and people there. I hope you guys can make
it. This was one of my favorite trips I have been on

Just a reminder or for anyone who missed it. Kermit Sand Hills next
weekend. It looks like there are 8 of us going, leaving OKC at about
7 on Thursday the 17th.

Have fun dude...I'll be putting in geothermal loops on a side job.  Wish I could go though.
