Musikis the third studio album by Canadian electronic music producer Richie Hawtin, and his second studio album under the alias Plastikman. It was released on November 8, 1994 by Novamute Records and Plus 8 and peaked at number 58 on the UK Albums Chart.
In a contemporary review of Musik, Ben Turner of The Guardian stated that Hawtin is "somehow managing to salvage sounds which others feel but fail to express. Musik is music as you've never heard it before."[2] Turner concluded that "when people look back and hail Kraftwerk, Larry Heard, DJ Pierre and Derrick May as the most influential artists in this genre, they will soon include Plastikman in this roll-call."[2]
Jason Birchmeier of AllMusic later wrote that Musik "masterfully covers all aspects of the minimal techno spectrum, from acidic anthems to ultra-minimal explorations and back, in the process showcasing Hawtin's staggering command of the Roland 303 and 909 drum machines as well as his brilliant grasp of album-level continuity".[1]
Now when creating a new playlist, of either an album or a compilation, cover artwork does not get updated and show (adding to Library does allow artwork but you still can't then transfer this to your playlist).
Is it just me, but surely most music lovers would much prefer to see album artwork rather than an impersonal and featureless design on their playlists - or at the very least have the option to choose this.
"A recent update to Apple Music on iOS changed how the artwork for a new Playlist is generated. Previously, a playlist would generate artwork by combining the artwork for the first four tracks in the playlist. Now, Apple Music on iOS uses a selection of abstract gradients for artwork on a new playlist. This is a backwards step. The previous behaviour was much better. At the very least, the old behaviour should be one of the options available to choose from."
I agree with everyone who says this change was a bad idea. I used the artwork to differentiate between playlists quickly, and I appreciated the amalgamation of album covers Apple Music generated when a playlist had songs from several albums.
I now have to do work to get something that used to just happen. Technology is supposed to make life easier. It is the very small things that can push the consumer to other companies. I hope that I will simply have the option to have my playlists like I used to with the album art automatically added.
We can't be the only ones that have an issue with this, can we? Other than sending product feedback to Apple, how do we get them to give us the choice to put something back the way it was, which was wonderful. I am choosing my words very carefully is to not have my comment be deleted, but I simply don't know what to do. As it is, now I have to scour the Internet for album art and create my own artwork based on that. Who thought this was a good idea?
Agree, was aware re camera option and fine if you want your own photos, but searching for consistent album cover artwork then uploading and saving, is a pain to say the least. If your playlist includes several different albums, the nice collage of artwork from the first 4 tracks that used to be generated automatically - well that's impossible to do yourself

Album motion makes your album artwork come alive. Motion artwork provides a richer experience for your audience by helping set a mood or accentuate the concept of an album, before anyone presses Play.

Your Apple Music album page is a dedicated space to feature your unique album cover art. Continuity between your album cover and motion art is critical for a great user experience. Follow these guidelines below to deliver motion art that takes your album art to the next level.
The motion art should be based on the album cover art. Any motion you use must remain focused on the album cover art for the full duration of the animation. Motion cannot include cuts to other images in the edit.
The entire canvas of the Album Page motion 1x1 is safe to place artwork. The Album Page motion 3x4 includes UI elements that need to be considered as you create your art. A safe area guide is provided in our downloadable templates for you to toggle on and off to check your artwork placement.
The audience should view the animation without a noticeable transition from ending to beginning. Therefore, the full animation sequence must be in a seamless loop. Please avoid using fade to color or multiple edits as a looping technique.
To create a seamless loop, the first frame needs to be the same frame as the last frame or one frame off. Try using a soft dissolve to create a seamless loop. For example, this typically works well with water or birds that flow in one direction. Another technique is to ping pong the animation timeline, meaning it reverses back to the original frame. This works well for many animations.
Motion art should not be pixelated or blurry. It should be created from high-resolution source files, as the artwork will appearon high-resolution displays. Do not try to increase the resolution of motion deliverables from low-resolution files.

A URL is generally not needed, even if you retrieved the album online. Include the URL in the reference only when that is the only source (e.g., when an artist releases an album on SoundCloud exclusively).
While I love getting more and more music from my favorite artists, having multiple versions of what is essentially the same album is frustrating and cluttered. Deluxe albums appear separately from original albums on streaming platforms, meaning the same songs exist in multiple places.
