Summary
The University of Missouri’s College of Health Sciences invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in the School of Social Work, working with Dr. Jennifer First. This position centers on addressing the
societal impacts of extreme weather and disaster events.
Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline (e.g., social work, public health, communication, sociology, geography, or related field).

Demonstrated experience in implementing research that addresses the societal dimensions of weather hazards (e.g., social vulnerability, risk communication, protective
decision-making, community resilience).

Advanced proficiency in social science research methods (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods).

Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
Location and Eligibility
The ideal candidate will be based in Missouri to facilitate collaboration with state-wide interdisciplinary teams and community partners. However, remote candidates based in the United States will be considered.
