The Sociology and Anthropology Department at Berry College seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in applied or practicing anthropology. We seek a cultural anthropologist who will bring familiarity with region-specific ethnographic work, research projects, and community collaborations that inspire and support students. The successful candidate will have experience in applying anthropology, community engagement, or development. They must demonstrate how their teaching, service, and scholarship will augment students' understanding of wider global contexts as well as real-world opportunities, problems, and research needs in various settings. In addition, this candidate will be prepared to guide students who elect to pursue diverse pathways beyond graduation: graduate studies in cultural anthropology, professions requiring firsthand involvement in research, policy, or practice creation, and practicing professions within business, community development, law, teaching, urban and regional planning, health care, and more.
