Tenure-track job in quant sociology, with a specific interest in water and environment. A very collegial department and a new PhD program.

Job Description:

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Department of Sociology & Anthropology, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Quantitative Sociology or spatial statistics. The purpose of this position is (1) to contribute to our strengths in borders, mobilities, Latinx populations, health and environmental issues, (2) to contribute to our new doctoral program, and (3) to enhance research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. All areas of Quantitative Sociology will be considered, but we are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to our strengths. We will also be interested in a scholar who works on the sociology or anthropology of water. Faculty with research interests that will benefit from our primarily Latinx student population and evidence of successful grant acquisition are especially encouraged to apply.
