A PhD position is available to work on an NSF funded project focused on developing impact-based flood forecasts in the San Juan Puerto Rico Estuary.
This is a highly interdisciplinary project that integrates across anthropology, climatology, meteorology, and engineering to 1) advance numerical modeling of compound flooding through integration of local knowledge, and 2) engage local experiences and future
visioning to develop operational impact-based flood forecasts. The student will be based in anthropology and will also be a part of the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems community.
Minimum qualifications:

Master’s degree in related field or 2 years of relevant work experience

Spanish fluency
