This is where everyone starts. Tell us a little about yourself, what
you want us to know, so we can begin to learn about one another and
grow together as a club.

I was a student during the term '91-'95. Part of that time I was
Activities Coordinator for DSU. I left San Jose at the end of '99 to
move to Sacramento and met Roxanne. We became a couple while working
on the No on 22 Campaign in February 2000. After I became her care
provider I worked on the negotiating committee to establish a contract
for the home care workers in Sacramento. In 2002 we were invited to
Scottsburg, Oregon to help convert and run a church resort. We moved
to Portland in June 2002 and stayed there until moving to Central
Point with friends in 2004. We decided to move back to California in
November 2004 and chose San Jose. I love working with people and
seeing them work together. I know we can work together to make DSU an
active club again. I am glad to be a part of it again.

Hello everyone. This is Roxanne, your president. I am disabled with
osteoarthritis, diabetes 2, edema, and sleep apnea. I have had the
osteoarthritis since some time in the '90s, had diabetes, edema and
sleep apnea since 2007. I had an accident in 2005 that put me in the
wheelchair and now I cannot walk without pain. I have been taking the
pool class with Tom Beggs and that really helps.
Paulette and I met in Sacramento, my hometown, in 2000 and we have
been together since. She is my right arm and confidante. You will
rarely see one of us without the other. Our dream is to go together
like the couple in the "Notebook", but we are in no hurry. I have a
history of abuse, so I am more sensitive to others and care about
people. I hope I can help this club get active once again and look
forward to going on activities with everyone. Thank you for wanting
me to be your President.
