As part of our partnership with AMIDEAST to help carry out a USAID-funded project to improve the capacities of Disability Service Centers at five public universities in Egypt. One deliverable of the three year contract is a study tour for a group of directors of the Egyptian centers to see model examples of how such centers operate in the US university context. In this regard, AMIDEAST is currently seeking proposals from U.S. universities to design and implement a 10-day study tour to strengthen the capacity of Egyptian public university staff to administer newly established Disability Service Centers, and ensure equal access to higher education for students with disabilities at their university.
It would be great if you can help us in circulating it widely to any universities in the U.S. whom you think would be interested in responding. You can find below more information.
The request for proposals is part of the U.S. - Egypt Higher Education Initiative, Public University Scholarships Program, funded by USAID and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, administered by AMIDEAST and with support from Helm Consulting. The program will establish and develop a sustainable University Disability Service Center at five public universities: Ain Shams University, Alexandria University, Assiut University, Cairo University, and Mansoura University to support the full participation of students with disabilities and ensure their equal access to higher education.
Location of Program: United States
Performance Period: June to September 2019 (study tour 10 days in September)
Maximum Award: $450,000
Application Deadline: Sunday, May 12, no later than 8 am Egypt standard time (UTC+2)
