INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR THE NATIONAL AWARD FOR THE EMPOWERMENT
OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, 2008
Applications are invited for the National Awards for the Empowerment
of Persons with Disabilities under each of the following categories:-
(i) Best Employees/Self-employed with disabilities;
(ii) Best Employers and Placement Officer/Agency;
(iii) Best Individual(including professional) and Best Institution
Working for the Cause of Persons with Disabilities;
(iv) Role Model Awards;
(v) Best Applied Research/Innovation/Product Development aimed at
improving the life of persons with disabilities;
(vi) Outstanding Work in Creation of Barrier-free Environment for the
Persons with Disabilities;
(vii) Best District in Providing Rehabilitation Services;
(viii) Best Local Level Committee of the National Trust for Welfare of
Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple
Disabilities;
(ix) Best State Channelising Agency of the National Handicapped
Finance and Development Corporation;
(x) Outstanding Creative Adult Persons with Disabilities; and
(xi) Best Creative Child with Disabilities.
2. The applications of those employed in the Central/State Governments/
Union Territories/Public Sector Undertakings should be sent in the
prescribed proforma (either in Hindi or in English only) to the
Section Officer(DD.V), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment,
Room No.622, 'A' Wing, 6th Floor, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi – 110 001,
through the Ministry/Department/State Government/ Union Territory
Administration/Public Sector Undertaking concerned duly approved by
the competent authority.
3. In case of others(including self-employed persons, unemployed one
and those in private organisations/unorganized sector), applications
should be routed through the Social Welfare Department or such
Department of the State Government/Union Territory Administration
concerned, which is concerned with the welfare of the persons with
disabilities. Applications other than through proper channel shall not
be entertained.
4. The proforma for the application can be collected from the Section
Officer(DD.V), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Room No.
622, 'A' Wing, 6th Floor, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi – 110
001(Telephone No.011-2338 6314, FAX No.011-2338 4918) or the same can
be downloaded from the Ministry's website http:\
\www.socialjustice.nic.in. Suitable photographs may also be attached
with duly filled in application forms.
5. Following documents should be enclosed with the application for the
award:-
(i) Summary of Bio-data;
(ii) Material for Citation.
6. The last date for receipt of applications is the 14th August, 2008.
Applications received after the prescribed last date and/or not
recommended by the competent authorities shall not be entertained
without any further reference to the applicant.
