well,

i can see that 90% of the people on this list doesn't work anymore with director, and they post on the list only to spit on director.

so i've created a new list for the 10% still working with director

here it is: shockwave...@googlegroups.com

Wow that's crazy words really. I don't think any one has been "spitting" on director I think the general vibe is more that on this list are a lot of people who have worked with director over the years and share many common goals in building 3d experiences web or other.
Director is incredibly important in the road I took that led me to what I do today, and the same for many others which is why their opinion on director and other 3d technologies is incredibly valid, even now they are not using it .

Stop taking so much offence.

And thanks every one, I've always held the opinions of people on this list in very high regard, even though most of the time I was just quietly them.

yeah yeah, i agree, but i'd be glad to talk on a list with people working with director

i'd like to talk about programming on director games, i'm tired to read "unity rooooxxx", "molehill is faaast", "director is deaaad"...

Fair play.
The osc extra for director is awesome and using flash connection with it is a great system for getting osc data into flash from other locations like processing or openframeworks.
I needed mike input and analysis fast oneday and antoine schmitts xtra didn't let me down at short notice.
I needed director as a quick way to analyse meshes as it makes it super easy to access verts and texture coords so I could out put them to another quick read format because of it's super easy text system.
Lingo is an amazing language to teach in it reads as programming does.
in the past year director saved me quite a few times.
It's been running an exhibition in the Rsc since October for me.
I often find it's web protocol more reliant than flash.. In exes it charges and slowdown less.
The way I use unity is probably deeply rooted in the way i used to use director.
But I don't think I will make another game in director unless it gets a decent update. If it does I will definitely give it a try.
But my suspicion is that the update is called "molehill", and if it is then that's great news because unity will be able to export to and we are all part if the same family
