Baruch,
I’m sending your bug on to the team. It will help expedite the fix if you can provide a sample of the code that is getting caught. 8.612 uses Flash Player 10, so its possible that you’re getting snagged in some AS2/AS3 problem, though I haven’t seen anything quite like this one yet. (send your sample to allenp at adobe dot com)

Subject: problem with Adobe Shockwave Player version 11.5.8.612
Hi I have a shockwave movie with embedded flash inside. The flash is a "php image upload "

They’ll probably need the *.fla for upload.swf

in my case there is no FLA involved at all, only the "flash.net.Reference"

You think its isolated to the flash.net ref class?

I think the critical code can be reduced to the follwoing 2 lines (in lingo):
myFR = newObject("flash.net.FileReference")
myFR.browse()
this code worked before (it showed a dialog for selecting local files for
upload), now it doesn't anymore.
Can you pass this info to Krishan, or otherwise send me his email address?

all I can tell is that at least the browse method of that class does not
work anymore.

FYI, the browse() method returns false (0).
from the AS2 docs:
"
Returns
Boolean Returns true if the parameters are valid and the file-browsing
dialog box is displayed. Returns false if the dialog box is not displayed,
if another browse session is already in progress, or if you use the
typelist parameter but fail to provide a description or extension string in
any element in the array."
but in this test case there are no parameters or description/extension
strings involved at all, so there must be an internal reason why the method
fails.
Baruch,
Can you please send me your direct email contact info? Allenp at adobe dot com
