 It used to work perfect in the last version 11.5.7.612 but now it only works inside Director but not in shockwave

Baruch,

I’m sending your bug on to the team. It will help expedite the fix if you can provide a sample of the code that is getting caught. 8.612 uses Flash Player 10, so its possible that you’re getting snagged in some AS2/AS3 problem, though I haven’t seen anything quite like this one yet. (send your sample to allenp at adobe dot com)

Ah – sorry, I see you tagged with the movies – that should do it.

They’ll probably need the *.fla for upload.swf

sh*t! same here! suddenly uploading files in shockwave via AS2
flash.net.Reference class doesn't work anymore, no file select dialog is
displayed at all. I'm really in trouble now, since I use this feature for
years in an online sequencer for uploading audio files.

cheers,
valentin

in my case there is no FLA involved at all, only the "flash.net.Reference"
class instantiated and used directly via lingo.

Valentin - if you can isolate the problem asap - pls get as much info as you can to Krishnan. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one affected.

You think its isolated to the flash.net ref class?

I think the critical code can be reduced to the follwoing 2 lines (in lingo):

myFR = newObject("flash.net.FileReference")
myFR.browse()

this code worked before (it showed a dialog for selecting local files for
upload), now it doesn't anymore.

Can you pass this info to Krishan, or otherwise send me his email address?

all I can tell is that at least the browse method of that class does not
work anymore.

valentin

FYI, the browse() method returns false (0).

from the AS2 docs:

"
Returns
Boolean Returns true if the parameters are valid and the file-browsing
dialog box is displayed. Returns false if the dialog box is not displayed,
if another browse session is already in progress, or if you use the
typelist parameter but fail to provide a description or extension string in
any element in the array."

but in this test case there are no parameters or description/extension
strings involved at all, so there must be an internal reason why the method
fails.
