The Pet Friendly Inn on Main provides a unique Cape Cod travel experience in a highly desirable location near the Bay. Located on Route 6A (Main St) in Yarmouth Port, the Inn is surrounded by shops, galleries, fine and fun dining and in close proximity to the beautiful, white sand beaches of Cape Cod Bay. The bed and breakfast is centrally located and provides easy access to all of the attractions and activities that the Cape has to offer; golf, theater, sailing, kayaking, biking, fishing, museums, art, music, farmers markets, whale watching, ocean and bay beaches, freshwater ponds, and island ferries.
In early 2018, partners Chris Kennedy and Sarah Bradburn decided to work for themselves. Sarah suggested starting a bed and breakfast, leading to The Inn on Main in Yarmouth Port, MA. This venture combined their skills, offering travelers a relaxing environment, delicious breakfasts, and comfortable accommodations.
You can enjoy breakfast in our charming dining room or dine al fresco on our scenic outdoor patio. Each morning, we serve a delightful two-course gourmet breakfast, designed to please your palate and energize you for a day on the Cape. Whether indoors or outdoors, our breakfasts are sure to make your stay memorable.
The area surrounding the Inn on Main is full of attractions, making it an ideal destination. Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, offers a variety of highlights, including museums, theaters, antique shops, art galleries, and unique boutiques. This charming area provides many opportunities to explore and enjoy the local culture.
The Town of Yarmouth announces the availability of up to $140,000 in funding for the marketing and production of events held from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 that promote Yarmouth as a tourist destination and strengthen community character. Grants are funded through the Tourism Revenue Fund.
Melissa Kelley from Apex Luxury Rentals welcomes me to the Falmouth Foreside condo that will be my home for the weekend. The condo is gorgeous, with high ceilings and a stainless-steel kitchen with granite countertops. Off the kitchen is the master bedroom, with a king-size bed and huge bay window.
My boyfriend, Johnny, meets me at the condo and we head to our first destination. The air is chilly as we walk up to Bueno Loco Restaurant, but a pre-dinner cocktail should warm us up. We enter the lively Mexican restaurant and are welcomed by the smell of spices and homemade enchiladas. We grab a high-top table near the bar, which is packed full of people enjoying their Friday night at a local Falmouth favorite. I order the house strawberry margarita with salt and Johnny gets a Corona Light.
We begin our shopping spree with the Elizabeth Moss Galleries, located in the Falmouth Shopping Center, with three rooms full of beautiful artwork to browse. We look around at all of the work on the walls, noticing the blue theme throughout many of the pieces.
In the same shopping center, we pop into Dwellings and are excited to see all of the Thanksgiving and Christmas decor on display. The elegant home design store is a great place to shop for lamps, mirrors, table settings, and holiday items. I end up purchasing a comfortable bathrobe and a holiday-themed reindeer dish for homemade salsa.
Johnny needs some new shoes so we head over to the Shops at Falmouth Village to Lamey Wellehan. The shore store has been around since 1914 and always has top-quality brands and a great selection. Johnny buys a pair of boots to wear for yardwork.
Owl and Elm is packed, but we find two seats at the bar that have just opened up. Our steak fries appetizer, with shaved steak and cheese atop golden, crispy fries, hits the spot. I order the burger, and Johnny gets a chicken salad. The pub, which opened in September, serves made- from-scratch comfort food. The two chefs, Matthew Dorr and Rocco Marzilli, had previously worked at Hot Suppa and Nosh Kitchen Bar in Portland.
I attended summer camp here for years, and I am hit with a wave of nostalgia. The campus is quiet and peaceful. I show Johnny where we had our camp activities, the soccer field, and the main buildings of the school.

Fresh seafood and shellfish are another popular draw for the area. In particular, Yarmouth is famous for the areas flavorful clams. The town hosts an annual festival to celebrate clams, which takes place in the summer and draws well over 100,000 visitors. Visitors can easily test their own clam recipes by visiting a local seafood shop or enjoy a tried and true version at one of the many local seafood joints.
As with other New England destinations, Yarmouth is most trafficked during the summer months, where the temperatures can approach to 80 degrees during the day. Spring and fall are also popular, as the area enjoys beautiful blooms and a spectacular foliage transition. Cooler winters offer the ability to engage in activities one may not find at home. With ice skating, skiing and snowmobiling among some of the more popular attractions.

As for the fauna, the beach is home to a diverse array of birds, such as the piping plover, seagulls, and terns that nest in the dunes and feed on the abundant invertebrates found in the sands and surf. Keep an eye out for these intriguing birds as you walk along the shoreline.
Take a stroll on the beach: Enjoy the soft sand as you walk along the pristine shoreline, taking in the fresh air and stunning ocean views. Keep an eye out for seashells and other treasures that the tide may have left behind.
South Yarmouth offers various parks and playground options beyond the beach, including Sea Holly Park, and Wilbur Park. Take some time to explore these areas and discover recreational opportunities within the town.
Hyannis and Yarmouth are two charming towns located in the Cape Cod region of Massachusetts, known for their stunning beaches, quaint villages, and rich history.
