TITLE: Marketing, Membership and Development Coordinator

SUMMARY: The Marketing, Membership and Development Coordinator manages critical tasks for Bolton Street Synagogue (BSS) - cultivating the interests, passions and spiritual needs of our community, attracting new congregants, and sustaining BSS’s legacy.. This person will work closely with the Rabbi and the established volunteer committees of the synagogue to meet specific annual goals. This is a part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours after the first year based on successful job performance and achievement of measured outcomes.
ELIGIBILITY: The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have a strong background in marketing, programming or organizations. This requires a demonstrated involvement in and a passion for Jewish life, interest in a career as a Jewish professional, excellent interpersonal skills, and a record of achievement.
DURATION: 15 hours per week; salary commensurate with experience
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university
• Demonstrable achievement in implementing successful, creative marketing programs
• Well-integrated with the Baltimore Jewish community
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude in dealing with clergy, board members, staff, congregants and guests
• Ability to work independently, be proactive and take initiative
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Knowledge of Jewish practices including holidays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• High level of accuracy in completing tasks
• Good time management and organizational skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Membership Development – Assist Bolton Street Synagogue (BSS) cultivate the interests, passions and spiritual needs of our community; engage with current members, implement outreach and marketing programs to attract new members, update membership package, maintain and update BSS’s website content and implement social media opportunities (Facebook, etc.), among other important activities.
Revenue Development – Develop and implement a plan to increase the utilization of the current space that will bring in new revenue sources. Fundraising – In conjunction with the Board of Directors and the Fundraising committee implement annual campaign fundraising plan
