Hi Rabbi Franken,
I wanted to let you know that after much consideration I've decided to accept another job offer that I think will be a better fit for me and my family. Honestly, I was very excited about the possibility of working with you all in a promising position, but as you pointed out during the interview, it will be a major compromise to give up spending weekends and holidays with our families who all live out of state, a compromise that I'm not sure we are ready to make. But I greatly appreciate your consideration for the job. I truly enjoyed meeting all the members of the Search Committee, and I wish you lots of luck in finding an excellent new principal.
And my husband and I are looking to come to services there sometime in the near future. I have also already promoted your synagogue to a few friends.
Thanks again, and best of luck,
Sharon Green
