Senior Mobile & Integration Developer

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile & Integration Developer to design, develop, and maintain modern mobile applications while integrating them with enterprise-scale Java and legacy COBOL backend systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in native and cross-platform mobile development, API integration, and enterprise application architecture.
This role requires a unique combination of mobile engineering excellence, backend integration expertise, and experience modernizing legacy systems for mobile consumption.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Application Development
- Design and develop native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Build native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Develop cross-platform applications using React Native and Flutter.
- Create reusable, scalable, and maintainable code components.
- Develop custom native modules to support platform-specific functionality.
Backend Integration & API Development
- Integrate mobile applications with enterprise Java and COBOL-based backend systems.
- Design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
- Collaborate with backend teams to modernize legacy services.
- Design API gateway solutions to securely expose enterprise services to mobile applications.
- Ensure secure authentication and authorization using OAuth, JWT, and related technologies.
UI/UX & Performance Optimization
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to implement intuitive and responsive mobile experiences.
- Ensure compliance with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design standards.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness using profiling tools.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across mobile platforms.
Quality Assurance & DevOps
- Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and UI tests.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Bitrise.
- Support automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices.
Security & Compliance
- Implement secure communication using HTTPS, TLS, and encryption standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and enterprise security requirements.
- Follow secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation processes.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on mobile technologies.
- Expert-level experience with:
- Swift / SwiftUI
- Kotlin / Jetpack Compose
- React Native
- Flutter
- Experience with Vue 3 and hybrid/mobile web components.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and API Gateway architectures.
- Proven experience integrating mobile applications with legacy COBOL and Java backend systems.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale distributed systems.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience with mobile security best practices and compliance frameworks.
