Role- Power BI Admin
 
Location- Austin, TX (4 Days WFO)

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities (Technical)
• Administer Power BI tenant, workspaces, capacities, access controls, and governance policies.
• Manage On-Premises Data Gateway setup, clustering, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Support data connectivity and refresh across Folder, SQL Server, Snowflake, and SharePoint sources.
• Implement automation using Azure Service Principal, Power BI REST APIs, PowerShell, and Azure Automation.
• Manage Org App and Workspace App publishing, audience permissions, versioning, and rollout communication.
• Enforce security standards including RBAC, RLS, sensitivity labels, and audit compliance.
• Support deployment pipelines/CI-CD and maintain operational runbooks and SOPs.
• Install, Upgrade and patch of On-Premises Gateway.
• Install, Upgrade and Testing Power BI Desktop on enterprise windows machines.
• Maintain high Refresh success rate of all the reports across tenant.
• Reduction in manual admin tasks through automation.
• Zero high-severity audit/security findings related to Power BI operations.

As a BI Team Lead candidate is expected to
• Manage a Team spread across multiple BI Applications in Global delivery model
• Drive delivery excellence through strong ownership, structured execution, and proactive risk management.
• Candidate must enable high-performing teams via coaching, skill development, and motivation.
• Effective communication and stakeholder alignment
• Collaboration across teams and resource alignment is essential for seamless execution.
• Additionally, innovation, continuous improvement, and strong leadership mindset differentiate high-impact leaders

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years in Power BI administration or BI platform operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Gateway administration and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with Azure AD/Entra app registrations and Service Principal-based authentication.
• Experience with Power BI automation (REST API/PowerShell).
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Snowflake, SharePoint, and file-based ingestion patterns.
• Strong incident management and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and XMLA endpoints.
• Experience with enterprise governance/compliance frameworks.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (Power BI/Azure).
