Email notifications not received

Hello there,

I am not receiving email notifications for any of my Diplicity games. What is the from-address for game notifications supposed to be? Just want to double check my spam folders in case they landed there.

Hey Jonathan, and anyone else with a similar problem.

It seems that bit rot has happened, and the SendGrid email sending service has stopped working some time in the last few years... (I haven't tested it since I initially built it, so I have no clue when it stopped working...).

It shouldn't be super hard to fix for someone with enough motivation and some skills in Go programming. See https://docs.sendgrid.com/for-developers/sending-email/v3-go-code-example for a SendGrid Go API example, and https://github.com/zond/diplicity/blob/master/auth/sendgrid.go for how Diplicity is using it.

Appreciate the update. Hope someone takes it up! Would help some of my busier play-group members not miss their builds or retreats.

Hey Martin and team,

I wanted to bring up this issue again. The lack of notifications is currently a deal-breaker for members of my playgroup, despite their appreciation for Diplicity's beautiful map.

Crossing my fingers someone can help fix it for everyone.

Hey Jonathan, unfortunately I think the email notifications are broken, and there doesn't seem to be anyone with the time and energy to fix it at the moment :(
