Ormaybe the next time my friend starts to evaluate her closet, the Minimalist Pixie Dream Girl will inspire her to think about implementing a capsule wardrobe, instead of heading immediately to Forever 21. Sure, those pictures of ten monochromatic shirts hanging on a rustic clothing rack are unrealistic, but the Minimalist Pixie Dream Girl knows that the stuff you own ends up owning you. An overflowing closet of underwhelming options makes me feel as cheap as the clothing inside, and I would so much rather pine for economy than for excess.

It just takes a dedication to reducing your material footprint, living mindfully, and being patient. You have to make a time investment, both in waiting to find secondhand pieces (shout out to Poshmark), and in saving up to invest in higher-quality items that last longer and serve a more versatile purpose. And you have to dedicate mindspace by making difficult decisions to let go of loved items in favor of breathing room.

My husband cut the pipes with a table saw, but you can buy a PVC pipe cutter for around $10. One tip that I figured out too late. After cutting each piece, but BEFORE bringing it inside, blow into the pipe. Little shavings of plastic will stick inside the pipe when you cut it and will come out when you start taking apart and reassembling the rack!

Once I was done I painted the PVC with Krylon Covermaxx paint in Watermelon. I wanted to use Krylon Fusion for Plastic paint, but apparently the Watermelon is discountinued. The only pink in Fusion is Fairytale Pink which is very pale and did not match my bag. Due to time constraints, I did not sand the PVC or seal the paint.

When you used your bag with your costumes hung on it, was it wobbly?

We have the medium dream duffle and we have a lot of costumes that we hang during a comp and it can get wobbly. Just checking about putting in different bars.

For stuck pipes try twisting and pulling. Also sand the pipe ends a bit. Makes them slightly smaller for a easier fit. The stores have a PVC cutter. Like a pair of garden shears. Works great no mess. Going to finish building mine tonite.

I am very excited to try this. Just purchased the duffel bag I got the same brand just the cheetah print instead. My daughter is in dance and is now starting competitions and I was researching about bags with a garment bag and was blown away at how expensive they are and hoping that this a affordable solution for me. I will let you know how it works out.

As soon as my kids left for the bus today, I went to the Dream Duffel website again. This time, there were medium Dream Duffels available, but none in the kit with accessories. Because I have had such a hard time getting one, I went ahead and paid the extra $10 to order the duffel and accessories separately. My Mom asked me to order Grace the personalized patch with her name on it, so I put that on too. I chose to pick it up myself (since they are located less than an hour away). It also saved $25 in shipping to do it that way.

Another example of great customer service I heard about in regards to the Dream Duffel, came from another dance mom/instructor at our studio. The clothes rack on her duffel broke, she called for a replacement, and it arrived the next day! These guys are amazing!

I love the dream duffel ! Sadly my daughter is leaving dance and joining gymnastics so I have a new large dream duffel for sale. We are in Michigan and if anyone is interested please email me at angies...@comcast.net .

We really do apologize. You definitely are a valued customer, but it is just not cost effective to send a new duffel out and have to have you send that one back. This minor defect will not effect the function of your duffel. You are welocome to send the duffel back and we will give you a complete refund.

When customers are paying as much as we do for our duffels, we should get good quality products. I have had a few dance moms talk about problems with their bars too. I have not had issues with mine since picking up the one that was missing in the first place. I do hope that as they grow, they also improve the quality of their products (reinforce the zippers better, more durable clothing rack bars, etc).

Hi! I really appreciate this post as most options out there are very pricey. However, I was just putting my clothing rack together when my boyfriend informed me that the spray paint will flake off and possible get on my clothes. Have you noticed any paint coming off of yours? please let me know as I really hate for that to happen.

A4: The click locks are not permanent you can adjust the height of the rail. The top bar can be removed then the sidebars can fold down to the bottom for storage. It is a very good rail and holds the clothes nicely, I would recommend it.

This item was actually better than I was expecting it to be. It is quite sturdy and held FAR more clothing than I thought it would. I would absolutely buy another one again. It was easy to assemble and disassemble with just one person.

This is my 3rd garment rack and the first one I've bought that's all metal. Don't even bother with the plastic-base ones. They all break eventually. This rack is sturdy and rolls like a dream. I like to air dry my clothes outside on hangars after a short spin in the dryer. This rack is perfect. One minor flaw in that one of the hole didn't line up on the bottom rail for the pop-out button (that holds it in place), but not a big enough problem to bother with return/exchange. Highly recommend this rack.

I have researched and investigated a ton of these racks - and THIS one is the winner. It is solid (no plastic), is simple to assemble, the wheels work great, and the two extensions that pull out from the top rod are very useful. You can get a LOT on this rack, and it will not bend or sway for you. The top quality and the great price make it the #1 option that I've found.

If you have a child (or yourself) in activities that involve multiple costumes, then I have some tips for you! I am breaking down all the ways to organize a dance bag for the multiple costumes, shoes, make-up, and more.

So I did this same thing for our first dance competition. I threw everything we maybe could need in a bag. And I am talking, everything. From 4 cases of bobby pins to a fourth pair of tights to a sewing kit. Everything went into a bag.

Dream Duffel was founded out of frustration over a lack of products designed for dancers to travel. When you have costumes to hang, and dance competitions to attend, there is rarely any space to hang your things.

The Dream Duffel has a built-in costume rack that can pull in and out of the duffel. The rack can become longer with rack extensions. You can use the extensions to create a privacy cover for those quick changes. And the duffel comes with so many pockets, there is no way you can be disorganized.

Plus, the Dream Duffel has clips to hold the top rack inside the duffel. This means when you pull the side bars of the rack out, you can easily grab the connecting rack because it is clipped in on the side of the costumes. So nothing gets lost.

The inside pockets are perfect for storing shoes, extra clothing, make-up bags, and anything else you want to store. Costumes can fit nicely inside the Dream Duffel, along with all the other supplies you need to get through those competitions.

Now there are a few different sizes when it comes to garment bags. Long garment bags fold over and hook on a D-Ring. This is great for longer costumes of ones with pants. This year, Adleigh has a hip hop routine with pants, so we used a long garment bag to keep everything together.

Garment bags also have different widths. This is called a gusset. You can decide if you want a garment bag that is gusseted depending on fluffiness and how many costumes you want to put inside each garment bag.

So I like to keep all the brushes together, along with the make-up in the hanging cosmetics case from Dream Duffel. The hanging cosmetics case can hold all the make-up in different pockets, along with having a mirror for any touch-ups we may need to make.

When we go to competition, I like having a travel size of the hair products I use because some of the big bottles of gels can get heavy. But I have seen other dancers come with their full bottles and use them.

Dream Duffel has a hanging accessories case that has a shelf and box holder for extra clips, and travel-sized items. This option is perfect if you have lots of smaller items and need a space to collect everything.

If you have a lot of hair products, the hanging cosmetics case is perfect for that. The big cans of hairspray and gel fit nicely into the case. And you can place that bag at the bottom of the Dream Duffel. Then place costumes on top.

You can also use the 6-Pocket Caddy with expandable shelves for organizing shoes and creating a shelf for things! Plus, you can grab the hanging mirror to add to the side of the rack, making the shelf the perfect spot to hold your accessories while you touch up between routines.

One of the most exciting aspects of DIY pipe clothing racks is their flexibility and how they are surprisingly heavy duty. Whether you want to showcase your shoe collection, hang accessories, or add storage for folded items, the possibilities are endless!

Pipe clothing racks effortlessly contribute to an industrial and minimalist aesthetic. Their raw, exposed materials and clean lines make them a statement piece in any room. To seamlessly integrate them into various interior styles, consider pairing them with rustic wood accents for a warm contrast or minimalist dcor for a modern, cohesive look.

This rack is a breeze to put together with its straightforward design! You have the flexibility to adjust the dimensions to suit your space or stick to the original plan if you prefer. Plus, you can pick the tube and fitting colors that best match your home decor to make it uniquely yours.
