When performing a PCA analysis, i noticed an excessive increase in hard disk [c:/] memory occupation.

I verified that the temp folder is used for the analyses, in this case specifically the directory [c:/User/AppData/Local/Temp/Rtmp6LSbFz]

I find it strange to occupy more than 200Gb of information in this folder, since my dataset has 11Gb. Is it right? I do not think so.

The process cannot be completed as it has reached the maximum storage capacity.

Is there a solution for this?

I'm using the latest version DinamicaEGO 7, on a desktop Windows 10 - 64bit, with 32Gb of RAM and 500Gb SSD.

Hi, Julio,

Can you give us a glimpse on the content of the temporary folder that is being used by Dinamica when running your model? Is it filled with ".ers" files and other files with the same name but without an extension?

Best,

hermann

Hi, Hermann,

There are some files, but the heaviest file has an extension .gri

Like this: r_tmp_2022-08-23_131810_2848_39214.gri

Dear Julio,

This problem is due to R loading the data into the computer's RAM memory. Therefore, if there is not enough memory for the vectors generated in the PCA, it cannot run. This occurs mainly if your study area is very large or has many variables. In the new version of BioDinamica we try to prevent this problem from occurring by trying to allocate the maps on disk when memory is not enough. Then, you need to have the most current version of Dinamica-EGO and the Enhancement Plugins of this version. In the submodel menu, within DInamica, click on submodel manager, and check for updates (if you already have BioDinamica installed). If you do not have BioDinamica installed in this version of DInamica-EGO, click on the store tab, on the submodel manager and select BioDinamica and install the updated library.

Best regards,
Ubirajara Oliveira
