Conservatory Benefit Concert for Japan
San Francisco Conservatory students and alumni are organizing a benefit concert on May 27 for earthquake/tsunami relief in Japan.
A community event, both local and international
On May 27, cutting edge Bay Area chamber groups will join local musicians and young artists from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for a special concert benefiting victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The program features the firey four-hands piano playing of Zofo, the funky and powerful bass clarinet sounds of Sqwonk, the captivating strings and voices of Real Vocal String Quartet, a new cello sonata by David Conte, and celebrated chamber and orchestral masterworks by Brahms,Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schoenfield, and Takemitsu. All proceeds from the concert will go to the American Red Cross, assisting their valuable and needed work in Japan. Admission will be by suggested donation, so please give as you are able. Your contribution makes a difference.
Donations can be made at the door or, in advance, online to the Red Cross
