hi

I did a fresh installation dimSTAT v9 on Solaris 11 (11/11) sparc, but mysql is not starting, even after a reboot.

# /apps/ADMIN/dim_STAT-Server start
================[ dim_STAT-Server: start ]================

*
* MySQL Database Server
*
  => Log output  : /apps/mysql/data/mysqld.log
  => Local socket: /apps/mysql/data/mysql.sock
  => Admin Access: root# /apps/mysql/bin/mysql -S /apps/mysql/data/mysql.sock

Starting...
130227 09:11:17 mysqld_safe Logging to '/apps/mysql/data/mysqld.log'.
130227 09:11:17 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /apps/mysql/data
130227 09:11:18 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /apps/mysql/data/mysqld.pid ended
Done.
Starting HTTP server from: /apps/httpd
Done.
================[ dim_STAT-Server: start -- done. ]================

# /apps/mysql/bin/mysql -S /apps/mysql/data/mysql.sock
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/apps/mysql/data/mysql.sock' (2)

I found no meaningful errors, except the following:

# cat /apps/mysql/data/mysqld.log
130227 09:50:46 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /apps/mysql/data
130227  9:50:46 [ERROR] Initialization of transaction delegates failed. Please report a bug.
130227  9:50:46 [ERROR] Aborting

any ideas?

Nick,

it seems to be a known problem on Solaris 11 / SPARC:
- http://groups.google.com/group/dimstat/browse_thread/thread/e7de912987153c84?hl=en

seem the MySQL I've shipped has problems on Solaris 11 / SPARC (and
not x64).. - but if I'll re-create a new dim_STAT tarball now with a
"right" MySQL version included, then the whole tarball will belong to
Oracle and no more covered by GPL/Freeware license as I'm currently
Oracle employee ;-)

so, just follow the workaround proposed by Amir to get it fixed..

Rgds,
