Someone posted this thread asking How (In Celestia's Name) the song Welcome To The Show has more views than any other MLP song. comparing it to Winter Wrap Up as their benchmark for MLP songs with a lot of views. That got me looking at the view counts of various MLP and MLP-related songs and I decided to go a little deeper . . . And typed "MLP song" into youtube and sorted by view count. I think the results are interesting. as it seems like most of the actual fandom related to MLP is for Equestria Girls.

Before we get to that though. here are the top 30 now (I've edited it to include songs that didn't show up before) most viewed videos of MLP songs from the actual show. Spoiler alert. Winter Wrap Up only made number 15,

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated children's television series based on the My Little Pony toyline, created by American toy and game manufacturer Hasbro. The show also has musical elements, featuring songs performed on-screen by its characters in several episodes.

Overall, the series has featured 108 original songs over the course of its nine seasons, not including its main theme "Friendship Is Magic" and the songs from its 2017 film My Little Pony: The Movie. Almost all songs featured in the show were composed by Daniel Ingram (pictured). He also became the show's main lyricist starting with season two; other notable lyricists include Amy Keating Rogers, M.A. Larson and the series' showrunner Meghan McCarthy. Lyrics are often written or co-written by the screenwriter of the episode they are featured in.

1In case of several characters providing lead vocals, the performers are listed in the order in which their characters (of the first of their characters in case they voice several) start singing.

3The singer is not portraying a character.

Most of the film's songs and its score were composed by My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic songwriter Daniel Ingram, who first announced at GalaCon 2015 that he would be collaborating with a live studio orchestra for the film.[3] On his songwriting for the film, Ingram said, "I had to challenge myself to push beyond what had been done in the TV show; to write bigger, more epic."[4]

At Hasbro's Toy Fair investor presentation on February 17, 2017, the company announced that there would be seven original songs on the soundtrack.[5] All orchestral parts of the score required approximately 5,800 pages of sheet music.[6] Recording for the score began on June 5, 2017, and finished on June 11.[7][8]

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic features various songs throughout the show as a theatrical element or simply woven into the regular narrative. This is a trend that has been in the My Little Pony television shows/direct-to-DVD films ever since Generation 1. The songs' lyrics on this wiki were transcribed by ear or from closed captions and their titles are taken from Daniel Ingram's Facebook page when available; otherwise, they are guesses or general descriptions. As of season three, the song titles are taken from their appearance in the episode's ending credits.

All Friendship is Magic songs were composed by Ingram, with the exception of Hop Skip and Jump, Evil Enchantress, I'm at the Grand Galloping Gala, Pony Pokey, and The rappin' Hist'ry of the Wonderbolts, which were given backing tracks by score composer William Anderson.

All Equestria Girls songs were also composed by Ingram except for Mad Twience, Monday Blues, Shake Things Up!, Get the Show on the Road, Coinky-Dink World, Photo Booth, Five to Nine, So Much More to Me, The Other Side, Invisible, All Good, I'm on a Yacht, Run to Break Free, Find the Magic, Let It Rain, and Cheer You On.

In addition to background music, several musical pieces have been used in the show that are not counted as full songs, according to "The Musical Pony" complete song lyrics in Little Brown's official My Little Pony Friendship is Magic guidebook My Little Pony: The Elements of Harmony. These include:

Becoming Popular (The Pony Everypony Should Know) and Find A Pet Song were nominated for the 39th Daytime Emmy Awards.[14] At the 2013 Leo Awards in Vancouver, British Columbia, Daniel Ingram and Steffan Andrews won "Best Musical Score in an Animation Program or Series" for the season three finale.[15][16] Ingram and Andrews were nominated for a 2014 Leo Award for their work on Pinkie Pride for "Best Musical Score in an Animation Program or Series".[17]

Either someone forgot to renew a deal, someone messed up, or G4 just isn't a priority anymore, but it's looking like Friendship is Magic music is no longer available over on Youtube Music. Since a lot of people use this streaming service for poni, it's pretty unfortunate. If you visit the page for one of the songs, you will find the video unavailable. Over on Apple Music, the main page for MLP no longer lists the albums, though you can still listen to them if you have them.

Since 1983, My Little Pony is a worldwide toy and entertainment brand known for popular series and songs. Currently, the series Make Your Mark is streaming on Netflix and Tell Your Tale, a short form series now available on YouTube.

One of the aspects of Friendship Is Magic that stands out the most is the musical numbers that are woven into many of the episodes. And unlike many series where random singing can feel like just that, and are typically disliked, My Little Pony manages to incorporate songs that are fun, catchy, and easily remixable by the older audience members with the skills to do so.

"In Our Town" is the first song of Season 5, and it's one of, if not the creepiest song in the entire series. Starlight Glimmer is singing about how every pony is equal because they all simply emulate one another and don't have anything that make them special.

Pinkie's Smile Song is one of four songs that appears in "A Friend In Deed," and it's arguably the best out of all of them. Pinkie sings about how much joy is brought to her life through helping other ponies, and it's incredibly catchy to boot.

While most of Pinkie's songs do reference the dark or scary side of life, it's always followed up by saying things aren't so bad or that laughter can dispel anything scary. In Pinkie's Lament, however, she's downbeat for the entire song as she questions whether party planning is for her.

"At The Gala" is the first of three songs that appear in the Season 1 finale, "The Best Night Ever." Each member of the Mane Six gets their own role detailing exactly how they believe their Grand Galloping Gala experience will make it the best night ever.

"The Failure Song" is the first of two songs that appear in the Season 3 premiere, "The Crystal Empire - Part One." Twilight is given a test from Princess Celestia, but it's unlike anything she's undertaken before.

"This Day Aria" is one of two songs that appear in "A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2," and it easily takes the cake as the best song in the entire series. Queen Chrysalis and Princess Cadence take turns singing about their individual feelings regarding the wedding.

The most well-known version of the song is a remix by The Living Tombstone, an internet group that's also produced TikTok-famous hits like "My Ordinary Life" and a litany of other "My Little Pony" songs, that was released in 2012. The remix has over 47 million views on YouTube and is the version that's going viral on TikTok.

"Discord" isn't even the first "My Little Pony" fan song to blow up on TikTok (or even the first one about Discord, the character), and other songs by The Living Tombstone like "My Ordinary Life" have found life on the app as well.

The Living Tombstone is the pseudonym of Yoav Landau, an Israeli musician. His My Little Pony Friendship is Magic related song was submitted[see here] on YouTube September 3, 2011, it was a remix of Party With Pinkie by Alex S. All his MLP related songs have been featured on Equestria Daily. He frequently collaborated with other musicians and singers within the brony community such as WoodenToaster and Rina Chan. A handful of his songs have been turned into music videos. My Little Pony aside, he is notable for composing the music for the Eddsworld and asdfmovie series.

Since 2015, he has departed from My Little Pony related music. He is known for his Five Nights at Freddy's songs which has made him reach over 1,000,000 subscribers. Recently, he has started a new format for his channel, making a red and blue version of his songs; blue being more lighthearted and cheerful and red being dark and heavy.
