How to hide sidebar?

Using the settings "Yes" and "No" for "Enable Sidebar" both show the sidebar. Is there a way to hide it?

Has this perhaps to do with using a domain like subdomain.mydomain.cn?

You're completely right, the current public release version has a bug. This will be fixed in future versions.
