Blocking Digress.it from paragraphs?

I've got a copyright notice page that my institution requires me to
present at the front end of any copyrighted text I'm presenting with
Digress.it. For obvious reasons, I don't think anyone needs to be able
to post comments to this block of text, but I'm having trouble
thinking of a way to format the text in a way that will prevent
digress:it from including each paragraph as a commendable line. Any
tips?

Could you use a footer plugin? Like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/header-footer/

There isn't really a way to limit paragraph blocks within posts.
