Problems with base install

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but I'm not getting the right-side
comment box and the left-side table of contents won't fly out.

I did a clean install of WP 3.1 through Fantastico Deluxe on A2Hosting
shared hosting, upgraded to 3.1.1, and installed Digress.it straight
from the Add New Plugin section. Changed Permalinks to year/month/
name, and have added a new post and changed the default page to be
called about (with matching slug).

Nonetheless, I get nothing. Please advise me or tell me what other
info I need to provide to solve this.

I am sorry about this! I just realized that the compressed source code was not included in the 3.1 release. To fix this you can either upgrade to 3.1.1 or turn on debug mode in the backend options.
