... when copied (Ctrl+C) directly from MS or Libre Office Word; can't we imitate other browsers/editors (such as GMail) that replace footnote marks with [1], [2], [3] ...?
it is difficult to implement. In fact, in this case Morpheus should render html, that is, become a browser. This will greatly complicate the program, and make it unreliable. I can not provide her support in this case.

Can't you import text with footnotes as if it is copied from a browser (i.e. first convert the text into html format, and then import it into Morpheus as normal text)? This would mean that footnotes are basically retained, only their hyperlink functionality would be lost.
Just copy them with the Chinese text, and they retained. The problem is that they usually elsewhere on the page
