Hi,

I have a MS-TH temperature and humidity sensor and I am currently using the program digitemp_DS9097U which provides this initial information:
DigiTemp v3.7.1 Copyright 1996-2015 by Brian C. Lane. I am running it in a continuous way but rarely get a reading. In other words it is very very slow.
What may be the origin of this slowness? How can I debug this system ?

Just for completeness I am using the commands

1) For initializing:
 /usr/local/bin/digitemp_DS9097U -s/dev/ttyUSB0 -i
Output:
DigiTemp v3.7.1 Copyright 1996-2015 by Brian C. Lane
GNU General Public License v2.0 - http://www.digitemp.com
Turning off all DS2409 Couplers
.
Searching the 1-Wire LAN
26029CCB0100009F : DS2438 Temperature, A/D Battery Monitor
ROM #0 : 26029CCB0100009F
Wrote .digitemprc

2) /usr/local/bin/digitemp_DS9097U -a

or /usr/local/bin/digitemp_DS9097U -a -d10 -n0 -lRoom.dat

Most of the time digitemp only prints the version and then stops printing nothing or simply does not update the Room.dat file after the requested 10 s. It seems random but there are really really long intervals (up to hours) despite digitemp being asked to read every 10 s.

Operating system: CentOS 6.8 on a Dell Precision Workstation. Linux 2.6.32-642.6.1.el6.x86_64

I might be doing something terribly silly ... but the single temperature sensor that we have works quite a bit better using digitemp.

Any insights ?

Thanks,

  Lothar
