Wondering how to connect the Yaesu FTX-1 to FreeDV?  Latest version of Hamlib 4.7 has the FTX-1 but can not figure out how to update Hamlib for FreeDV?  I have Hamlib 4.7 on my computer but FreeDV must be using an older version.  Hamlib 4.7 works with other software on same computer?  Thank you  73  Emory  WM3M

Hi Emory,

If you're on Windows, you may be able to replace the libhamlib*.dll file in C:\Program Files\FreeDV...\bin with a newer one. Otherwise, using another FTDX-* Yaesu model may work when configuring Hamlib, but I don't have that model of radio to confirm.

Thanks,

This is JH0PCF Kanda.
Regarding connecting the FTX-1 to a computer
I needed to do a demo using a friend's radio, so I contacted Yaesu customer support.
I was told that if you don't have the FTX-1 settings when operating in digital modes like FT8,
use the FT-991 settings as a substitute for CAT control.
Regarding the data rate of the radio and computer,
the data rate is optional, 8 bits, no parity, and the stop bit can be set to 1 or 2
on the radio side, but a stop bit of 2 provides more stable communication.
CAT control only allows PTT control and frequency readback from the radio to the PC; it is not possible to set the frequency from the software.
In the FreeDV GUI, under Tools>Options>Rigcontrol,
Frequency/Mode Control Options
Instead of "Enable frequency and mode changes,"
the setting should be "No frequency or mode changes."
Is my information correct?
You'll also need to update the FTX-1 firmware, so
