I noticed that in say 700D or 700 E mode, my waterfall allows me to tune by double-clicking or scrolling the mouse wheel back and forth.

Under RADEV1, there is no way to "tune" as the other modes. I can't find out if this is normal or not.    If this helps I'm running the newest Linux AppImage.

It works exactly the same.  I use my mouse wheel all the time.

Hi Walter,

To confirm, this is with RADE, right? Not the older modes? I tried using the mouse wheel and didn't see any indication that it was doing anything.

Thanks,

I am using the mouse wheel while in the RADE mode. It works fine for me.

I do this even more often when on 40 meters, as the net has to shift from the 7177 to 7182 or so, and I just roll the mouse up the net frequency, and roll back to 7177 afterwards.

I’m sure it depends what radio he is using, ( Hamlin?). I’m with Walter, the Flex works, rolling the mouse , to control frequency ( and I use a mouse without detents , rolls smooth.

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, there was confusion as to what exactly was being tuned based on other replies.

In the past there was a tuning indicator at the top of the FreeDV application's waterfall that indicated where the center of the signal was (which could be adjusted by the user by double-clicking on the waterfall or using the mouse wheel while directly over it). As this is fixed at 1500 Hz for RADE, this functionality was disabled whenever RADEV1 is selected (but should still work if you choose one of the older modes). Hope this helps!

Thanks but my IC 730 has no computer control.

As you can see from this screenshot, there are no little marks above the waterfall that show the tuning while using RADEV1.  Nothing work from within the waterfall to change tuning... not scrolling, not double-clicking, nothing.

That is correct. That function does not work in the RADEv1 mode.
