Hi team

Since I installed 2.1.0 on my Win 10 machine, the reporter has become  unstable - every couple of minutes it goes blank, then after a short while the contents re-appear.

During that time, other users say I "disappear" from reporter then re-appear.

I thought it might be  a bad install, so I reinstalled it - it didnt fix it.

cheers

Hi Bob,

I have seen the same issue using my Linux desktop and both MacBook Pros I have (One running Linux and the other running the MAC os)

I think it's more in internet issue vs a problem in the application.  It is somewhat more severe if I am using a wireless (WIFI) connection.  My desktop computer is connected directly to the router via ethernet cable and it's not as frequent as the other computers using WIFI.

Another ham I know is using wireless home internet by T-Mobile, and a wireless WIFI home LAN, and he's always disappearing from the reporter and reappearing.

Also, I think there could be issues with the network load on the server(s) used for the reporter.  Maybe the numbers of users increasing is contributing to the problem.

Mooneer may jump in here with info on that.

Thanks Rick

Yes, using wifi.  I'll see if I can find a long cat5 cable that I have in a box somewhere, to see if that removes the problem.   It can't be a permanent solution,  however, without a proper installation, because divorces are so messy these days. 😉

Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob,

Do you have any settings enabled on your router to shut down inactive connections? If so, try disabling those and seeing if that improves things. (Theoretically it should still be sending and receiving often enough to avoid this, but you never know.)

Thanks,

-Mooneer K6AQ
