Mac OS Version - Serial Port PTT not working

I'm using a Macbook pro and tried the serial port to control PTT.   I have a FT-857D with a DIY PTT cable that works on the windows version. The serial port doesn't hold on to the serial port address.  When I click OK after setting the Serial Port for PTT control and bring the PTT configure up again, it's blank. I tried it on Fldigi on the Mac and it works fine.  Fldigi also has an independent rig control called Flrig (Mac - open source) that uses CAT libraries to control PTT - it would be nice if FreeDV recognized Flrig.

DIY serial PTT cable to radio connected to data port

serial address: /dev/cu.keyserial1

Hi,

There has been some quite substantial changes to the way rig control
works in FreeDV. As a result, the OSX build on the website is quite out
of date, and I haven't had time recently to do an updated build.

I'll see if I can get something put together in the next few days.
