Unfortunately, there is no ETA for this as of yet. This is because work to do so will likely be part of RADEV2, which itself has no ETA for release.

Thanks Mooneer,

The WebSDR here, Sydney Australia is now reporting it's URL and received callsigns.

shed.nepeanshed.org.au:8073 with decode and reporting of Rx stations.

It does require a listener to select the FreeDV mode (USB or LSB) and a frequency with activity.

There are several "bookmarks" on 80, 40 and 20m to help.

Hi Mooneer,

Thank you for the update and for your ongoing support.

Regarding the FlexRadio version, I noticed the following in the release notes:

"Report SNR in spots added to SmartSDR. (PR #1179)"

I am running 2.2.0 now, and the Flex Spots are not showing the corresponding SNR.  Do I need an argument in the startup command to enable this feature?

Re setting up logging for Log4OM.
I see to enable logging on reporting page.  The port number is the same at JTX.
Also, I see how to set up inside Log4OM but JTX is there with its port number.

I need to change the port number to set it up for freeDV.  Is any port number OK or
is there a preferred one or set?

more on Log4OM interface.

The port number in freeDV works with Log4OM.  When you select to log the entry in freeDV
it shows up at the top of Log4OM page but not yet entered in the database.  Looks like the times
need to be set before clicking on the green plus button to put in the database.
The entries for the call, mode, freq are all correct.   THANKS FOR ADDING THIS!!!

Hi Alan,

The SNRs show up as tooltips that appear if you hover your mouse above a spot. Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Mooner

Found it.  Please consider grouping the call and SNR together on the top spot display on the  panadapter.

Interesting since I just downloaded 2.1.0 for the Mac version earlier today and had difficulty confirming CAT for a Flex 8400 .  I do have a version from last month working on Windows 11 .

Hi Andy,

What difficulties did you have setting up the Flex? I have an 8400 here as well and I use FreeDV with SmartSDR for Mac without any issues, so I can probably help with configuration that will work.

Thanks,

I find Smartsdr for Mac confusing when it is compared to the Windows version and SmartCat.  I think I am not entering the correct info for a rig address . In Freedv I entered 127.0.0.1:5002 but no CAT . Same when tried 5003 . The baud rate setting I chose was “default “

Here are my Mac Smart SDR settings that work.  You need to check the enable box, unlike the below screenshot.

Yep, I have similar settings as Alan (except I'm using "FlexRadio 6xxxx" for the rig type in FreeDV instead). Hope that helps, Andy!

Alan/Mooneer , I have it now.  I did not try 5001 previously.  Also, it took a reboot of SmartSDR  and FreeDV and then I needed to start the modem and execute a CAT QSY, without starting the modem a change of frequency command did not work.  I forgot about that .

Hi Jesse,

That's a question that's going to depend on your country's radio regulations. In the US at least, I don't think you legally can, but maybe someone with more knowledge can clarify.

Thanks,

I was thinking of giving a new breed of CBers a way to clean up 27mhz SSB. And to give more life to GMRS
Please do let me know on the site the rules

The relevant section of the FCC rules on CB seems to be https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-47/section-95.971, which restricts CB to AM, SSB and FM. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-47/chapter-I/subchapter-D/part-95#95.1771 is also relevant for GMRS.

It is not a matter of “can” rather a matter of “when” you’ll be hearing it on 27MHz   😊
