Hello friends, just to tell you about the freedv rade net activity, held in Argentina on August 9th, 6:00 PM UTC, on the IARU 7045 KC frequency. The following stations participated: LU8DNO, LU4DNK, LU3JIJ, LU8JJ, LU5DKI, AC6RB, and LU3EQE. The opportunity was taken to gather information about operating systems, equipment, antennas, interfaces, SDR use, Virtual Cable use, translators, program issues, and suggestions to share with the programmers.
A very interesting conversation. It will be held again every Saturday at the same time and frequency.
We also have a very active WhatsApp group and a beacon signal in several languages.
The estimated total number of active stations is about 25.

Hi Jose,

I've gone ahead and updated the FreeDV website accordingly (it originally said Monday/Wednesday/Friday for this net, not Saturday). Thanks for promoting FreeDV!

Thanks,

-Mooneer K6AQ

Okay, Mooneer, perfect. I just wanted to let you know that we're having our first experience with this type of network. We usually go out to several stations every day, but not all at the same time. This is like gathering a bunch of them all at once.
I don't know if you heard that we're using Google Translate as an add-on to the program. And it's giving us extraordinary results, because we can communicate perfectly with any station in the world, each speaking their own language. I'm doing this regularly with a station in Japan with excellent results. Everyone speaks their own language and understands each other perfectly, without any problems. What do you think? Best regards... and thank you so much for your work... it's excellent!!!!

I would love to see a procedure for using google translate with FreeDV. What a powerful combination!
