hello ALAN .. just to inform you that your automatic station works perfectly well .. I was able to record only a little , because the call is dramatically short , but the audio and quality is excellent ... congratulations ALAN , excellent work , if you ever want try to make a contact .. just tell me time and frequency, usually in 20 meters around 09.30 utc, there are good conditions

hello KLAUS, yes of course.. I'll be there... IN 14236 /14240 KC ... if there are no live propagation conditions, I'll try for an SDR in NZ, I'm sure I'll be able to receive you there perfectly..
don't forget that every day 09,30 utc we are in QSO with 2 colleagues from AUSTRALIA, VK3RV and VK3BRT, on 14120 / 14130 kc, INTERNATIONAL FREQUENCY freeDV, IARU CONVENTION, so if you want to join the group, welcome...we use mode 700 E, almost always..

I never tried 700E. I think you can leave it at 700D as it can handle lower SNR compared to 700E. My websdr is also set to 700D

thanks for the qso. The SNR was only 3 dB max, and hard to copy, but at least I could decode partially with readability R3

First time to SA in FreeDV. Interesting to see that mode 700E was working better than 700D. Unfortunately, my noise level here in the evening is at S6. We have to try it another time  again.

Hello friends, just to tell you that we made excellent contact in freeDV, between INDONESIA and ARGENTINA, with a very good copy, the first QSO in this mode of transmission between these two countries... I'm very excited and this is just beginning... a strong 73 to all and MERRY CHRISTMAS..

700E trades a few dB lower sensitivity for improved fading performance,
it depends on the path you are using as to which works better for a
given contact.

Ok, that explains, why 700E was working better than 700D with Jose.
