Regular FreeDV DX VK3 - W1 (CT east coast)

I thought I report a little on what is an almost daily FreeDV DX sked between John W1FC and myself Dieter VK3FFB on either 12m or 15m.

These two bands usually offer excellent propagation over the long distance between Australia (south-east) and North America (north-west). 
We typically have SNR values of 5 to 10 dB. Both of us use directional antennas at normal height levels - no antenna farm :)

We have been doing this for a few months now, so it is not depending on any super-normal band conditions. It is first and foremost enabled by the fine FreeDV digital voice mode.

Sometimes other stations join in but we are mostly the only ones on the band. Cleary and for whatever reason, 20m is where most people usually are :)
