Only 700E will decode

1.8.2 on an older Dell Win 7 machine.

Mode 700E decodes flawlessly. But absolutely 0 decode any other mode using sample test encoded files and same (or any) audio level settings. Multi-Mode auto detect is enabled.

Any one else run into this issue?

I'm going to try it on a newer Win10 tablet and see what I get tonight.

Be sure that at the bottom the FreeDV client, you have the default “waterfall” selected.

 

I saw this just last week, where another screen was selected, and it would not decode the other modes.

 

Let me know if that doesn’t work for you.

Hi Scott,

For the other modes, does the "Sync" indicator turn green? What SNR gets reported for those modes using the sample test files? If you're getting reasonable SNR and the Sync indicator is turning green, something you can try is lowering or disabling squelch; that should allow the audio to come through.

MultiMode decoding, is this a new feature of the API or does

the FreeDV app spawn off a thread (or process) for each mode?

As, I could implement this in OpenWebRX.

Hi Al,

As mentioned previously, each mode is tried either sequentially or simultaneously (1 mode per thread) based on the settings in the FreeDV application. This isn't a feature in the API but rather something done at the application level.
