FreeDV 40M Tuesday Night Activity Net (7182kHz +/- QRM) Report for 11/18/25 (Wednesday 0300Z)

Below is the list of stations that participated in the FreeDV 40M Tuesday Night Activity Net that met on 11/18/25 at 10PM EDST on 7182 kHz. We had 45 stations that participated based on Netlogger check-ins, over-the-air check-ins, and activity on FreeDV Reporter. Conditions were fairly decent but the close-in skip was longer than usual making it difficult for some stations less than 500 miles away to hear me.

Since Dudley, WA5QPZ, was out of town, this net was not recorded on YouTube. However, he did manage to get the Echolink connection to a receiver in Utah up and running a few minutes into the net. I routinely use his Echolink connection to listen for stations that I might not otherwise copy.

Two other comments:

1. Please put your name and QTH into FreeDV Reporter when you start the FreeDV program. This will help all of us learn who is who.

2. If you can (assuming you want to try it), download “Netlogger” and monitor the net. This will put you onto a list in the order that you start monitoring from which I can easily create an organized check-in list. You can also see the check-in list that I have created which includes FreeDV Reporter stations as well as any other over-the-air check-ins. This is how Dudley and I try to keep the two of us in sync. If you see the designation “lurking”, it means that I have not yet added you to the list of check-ins.

Andy,

I assume you're referring to the net that occurred last night and not the net on the 18th. Based on my recollection, I did call you but did not hear you. I don't think I saw a response on FreeDV reporter either but I'm not sure. The skip changed quite dramatically last night as the net progressed and you were not the only person to experience a problem. Normally, WA5QPZ in Texas is the alternate net control station.  Between him and me, we can pretty much cover the country. Unfortunately, he's out of town and is not able to make any nets until he returns in another week or so.

Hopefully, things will work out better for all of us next Tuesday.
