Hi guys,

I must be missing something here. Even the Windows version
of FreeDV produces nothing. Shouldn't I see some indication
the Level meter, or in the Waterfall, Spectrum, etc., even
if the input is noise or conventional AM audio? Is there a
Start button that I'm missing?

The Audio Config "Rec 2s" function confirms there's an input
signal and "Play 2s" plays a tone on my speakers. Should be
OK, right?

Is there anything else that I need to do?

Problem solved! When the main window opens, the Control
section is not visible. That section contains the Start
button. You have to pull the bottom border of the window
down to see it. This is true on Linux and Windows 7.

The window could be smaller - it's the full height of the
screen on a netbook. At least there should be a scroll bar
whenever the entire dialog contents don't fit into the
window. Am I the first to notice this? I'll bet that the
developer always runs the app full-screen.

Now I just have to lurk on the ham bands for some suitable
traffic.

In a few years hopefully, it will just be a black box you plug your headset/mic into.

Not the first, that's just how it is..

14.236 is where most people hang out, but the band is horribly dead right
now..

Log onto qso.k7ve.org to see who all is on FreeDV, and what frequency they
are using..

All the best, and hope to work you soon.

It is a known issue and has been reported in here previously.
