Hi all,

As you know, I'm trying to asses the usefulness of a HF repeater
based on Codec2, either mode 700D or 700E making use of the Txt Msg
to provide a trigger string for the "repeater".

( // as in "// de VK2ZIW")

So my problem is, no Australian or New Zealand amateurs are on the
QSO.freedv.org website to coordinate with.

Yes I know the FCC rules prohibit HF repeaters but I'd like to see
this technology tested where there's enough amateurs.

Mooneer, your ezDV project is great but can your device send the Txt Msg
and have a switch to either send the trigger string or not?

Hi Alan,

ezDV is able to enable/disable PSK Reporter encoding support, but there is currently no support for free-form text.

There are FM repeaters on 10M. I am no expert but have never heard a restriction on them.

Correct, the restriction in the US is on repeaters below 10 meters.

That is for operating a repeater in FCC jurisdiction, a repeater located elsewhere can be used from the US as long as the input is on a frequency authorized for the mode in the US.
