Number of characters displayed by FreeDV Reporter

Hi  all

Yesterday I was asked to contribute to FreeDV Reporter regarding the number of characters.
There is a special call sign and it seems that in some areas of Japan it exceeds 5 characters, so I would like to ask everyone to address this issue.
I checked and the maximum number of characters was 8.

Ex: 8N5CLEAN (CQ Magazine July)

Hi Yuichi,

I was able to confirm that eight characters is the limit in the FreeDV application. It did cause problems with the FreeDV Reporter server when I tried that, though, so I went ahead and pushed a change to hopefully fix that.

Hi Mooneer-san

I just informed the client that the 8-character response was complete
and asked for confirmation.
However, he commented that it had not improved.
I asked for the registered call sign and found that the numbers were
mixed up. That call sign is “8J1YK70Y" . It was not the number of
letters, but the mixed numbers that were not displayed.

The FrrDV GUI's seem to be able to register, so it appears that there
is an issue with the FreeDV Reporter.
Could you please check again...

Try now; FreeDV Reporter should now be using the same checks as the FreeDV application.

I have also confirmed that it will show up on the FreeDV Reporter, so
I have contacted the client and am waiting for confirmation results,
but I think this will probably be a FIX.
